Gifts-In-Kind

A gift in-kind is a tax deductible donation of materials and other resources that has monetary benefits to Henderson County Habitat for Humanity. Examples are:

Food and drink for our special events
Plumbing, HVAC and electrical supplies
Office supplies
New building materials like siding, pipes, wires, and electrical switches that Habitat would otherwise have to purchase
Recycled materials (and help the environment) – gently used building materials, appliances, furniture and more
A donation of land

Gift in-kind donors submit a breakdown of costs of services and/or supplies. Habitat sends donor a thank you letter acknowledging the donation. The donor is responsible for assigning a fair market value to the Gift In-Kind for his or her own tax purposes.
