No. Habitat builds homes for qualified homebuyers who pay an affordable monthly mortgage payment. These mortgage payments help Habitat build more homes for low-income homebuyers in your community.
Does Habitat for Humanity International give money to build houses locally?
No. Most people believe Habitat for Humanity International provides funds to your local Habitat to build homes in Henderson County. Henderson County Habitat for Humanity is responsible for raising funds locally through grants, donations, sponsorships, fund raising activities or retail sales through the ReStore.
Can I donate for a local build through Habitat for Humanity International?
Yes. However, Habitat International takes a percentage of each donation designated for Henderson County Habitat for Humanity so we do not receive the entire amount of the donation. If you do not designate your donation to go to Henderson County Habitat for Humanity, Habitat International keeps 100% of the donation. If you wish to support your local Habitat’s mission, please donate directly to Henderson County Habitat for Humanity.
